When Can You Sell Jio IPO Shares?

Investors who received Jio Platforms shares can sell them from 10 am on Wednesday, October 28, when the stock starts regular trading on NSE and BSE. Although the shares land in demat accounts on Tuesday, October 27, they cannot be traded until listing. A special pre-open session from 9 am will decide the opening price based on buy and sell orders. The grey market currently points to an opening about 22% above the ₹1,119 issue price, or near ₹1,366. Allottees looking for quick listing gains can place sell orders once trading begins, while others may hold for the longer term. Shares sold within 12 months of allotment are taxed as short-term capital gains under current rules.
